I'm off the the Fashion Capital

Well, I have now booked my plane tickets and accommodation for my big trip down to Melbourne, the fashion capital of Australia, for next weekend. The annual Australian Quilt Market is being held at Southbank, so I am heading down to hopefully source some new fabric. While I am primarily interested in using organic fibres, I realise that there is not alot of variety out there yet as it is not quite a mainstream fabric just yet, so for some of my party dresses, I am going to have to use conventional cotton. I really like using the quilting fabrics as they are an excellent weight cotton, breathe beautifully, iron up to a fabulous crisp finish, and come in the most AMAZING colours, prints and designs. I am really excited and can't wait to see what is available.
Living out in the country, I don't even have face to face access to fabric agents locally, yet alone direct access to wholesalers, so I think this once-a-year trade show will be a great opportunity for me and for the line. I am planning on taking my laptop with me, so I will be able to post what the actual market is like, so, as they say,
Stand by to stand by!!
